What is Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy?
1 in 3 women will experience pelvic health problems in their life:
The menopause can cause changes to your pelvic floor muscles, leading to urinary or bowel incontinence, or pelvic organ prolapse.
Physiotherapy with specific pelvic floor strengthening exercises can strengthen and maintain the pelvic floor muscles, helping to prevent incontinence or prolapse. Within the clinic we work on both static pelvic floor work and functional training.
For those who present with tight/overactive pelvic floors we focus on down training and functional movement. If suitable for the individual Acupuncture can be used to facilitate recovery.
